Local photographers are equal to international photographers. This is what the Sanur Village Festifal committee is attempting to show. Through the photo contest, SVF committee wants Indonesian photographers especially in Bali to show their ability. Up to day two, 60 persons have registered in this contest. City Tour coordinator Charlie Suyata, Thursday (16/8) states that the photo contest theme has been set by committee i.e. Fun and Culture Event On Sanur Village Festival. The participants have an opportunity to select any object but it has to reflect the competition theme. Each participant is given the opportunity to collect maximum 10 of their best photos. Contestant come from Bali and also from Jakarta, Semarang and Surabaya. Around 70 percent of participants are professionals photographers. The participants must submit their photos on August 18 and 16 photos will be selected as champion candidates to be exhibited during the Art Exhibition. According to a former winner of this Mamengkybuono IX award, the photo criteria is based on photography technique, beauty, printing quality, composition, moving etc. he also states that the selected photos is that which can speak in words through the photo expression. Editor’s Note : Sanur Village Festival was established by the Yayasan Pembangunan Sanur. In its efforts to rehabilitate the image of Sanur as one of the first tourism destinations in Bali, various creative and fun-filled activities are combined into a five-day long event taking place within the Sanur area. Presenting arts, culture, sporting activities and many more, the Sanur Village Festival is expected to create a foundation for the local community.
